Expect 2020 to be a Big Year in Poker
As the year comes to an end and the weather has certainly taken a turn for the worse we have some good news for UK poker players!
We expect and predict 2020 to be a very big year for poker both on and offline. I haven’t used a crystal ball or seen a glimpse of the future here. What is happening is a perfect storm of poker all coming together to see a boom that is going to be too good to miss.
By now you are probably wondering what the hell I am talking about? The reasons are quite simple…
The Yanks are Coming Back
The USA is slowly legalizing online poker and state by state players are making their way back online to play at poker sites. This is great news as the player numbers will be up and the game will get a new lease of life.
As player number increase the sites will increase promotions, games, tournaments, prize pool, Rakeback and more. Things could be on their way to the way they were before black Friday hit the beloved game.
A Warm Welcome to Indian Players
India with its huge population is starting to take up the game of poker. Indians love to gamble, it’s in their history as it is ours. Ther are already loads of Indian online casinos out there attracting huge numbers of customers.
Games like teen patti are the fabric of society and not that far from a game of poker. Pokerstars recently started to accept players from India but as yet have not sponsored major events.
Cricket is the national game and my hunch tells me that Pokerstars will soon be sponsoring a team in the Indian cricket league, or perhaps the whole league itself.
The introduction of Indian players bring a mass-market and new players. This means worse players (I mean new players) to the tables which inturn bring people out of retirement to mix it up at the poker tables.
