James Akenhead
A name which is well known to many UK Poker Players but one which is now apart of poker history, James Akenhead is a former railroad conductor turned poker pro who’s 2nd place finish at the 2008 WSOP will be remembered for ever (especially by him) this event should have been James first WSOP bracelet and he would undoubtedly have been a worthy winner.
He did collected $520,000 for 2nd but although 2008 was a good Year 2009 is nothing short of phenomenal.
In the latter part of 2009 James Akenhead has made the final table of the WSOP main event to be played on the 9th of November, this guarantees him at least $1.26 Million. What else is astonishing is that shortly after he made the Final table of the WSOPE finishing 9th for £66,533, 2 World Series main event final tables in a matter of months!
Add to the above a virtual plethora of cashes in the GUKPT 888’s UK Open, ept events, Paddy Power festivals and many other high class events James Akenhead is one to watch for the future.Just 25 years old this Londoner has more then proven his poker ability and blasted himself in to the spotlight.
A nicer more grounded person you couldn’t wish to meet and we wish James all the very best of luck in 2010 and hope to see him on many more final tables!
James finished 9th in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for more than $1.2 Million.
Watch James Akenhead in the WSOP 2008 in a horrible hand
